"Caption Writing"

Saturday morning, William Levy's wife got in a terrible accident on her way to pick up her daughter              shelby, Sadly the ambulance didn't get there on time to help her.

Mr. President Obama having an argument with Stacey the Government of France, She believes its not fair for her people not having the opportunity to come to the United States.

Saturday Morning Jake up was running away from the police ,He started to get on fire as soon as he backed away from them.

"Photo Composition"

-This picture has a rule of Leading Lines, It shows the line on the track, where you can see where the lines are leading you. Each line has a number , The number are squared with lines also. It shows you how the lines are being formed and where the lines are taking you.

-This picture has a Rule of Thirds, It shows you how the girl is in only on one specific side and theres no one besides her or on the background. Rule of thirds its were a subject is in a specific corner . Where theres nothing surrounding the subject, and you can see it clearly as well.

-This Picture has a rule of Background, It shows how the background is plain and simple. and you can see clearly at the men talking, and the picture its mainly about him so that what its mainly about, when just a particular subject is being focused, And the background simple so you can pay more attention on the object your trying to take a picture of.

-This picture has a rule of Symmetry and Patterns, It shows how the shape of the circles is on the center of the picture. and how the patterns of the circle keeps on going also with the lines of Symmetry going a crossed at each other. Symmetry and Patterns is where you can see lines and shapes working together. And having a particular pattern.

"Self Portraits and Portraits"

1. Tips:
-One way is to frame an interesting composition and then, with your compact camera mounted on a tripod or another means of support, use the self-timer (if your camera has one) to trip the shutter after you get into position in front of the lens.
-Photographing your shadow is another way to do a self-portrait. Shoot early or late, when the sun is low in the sky. A light, stucco wall, a sidewalk, or any other simple background can suffice.
- A self-portrait should be a very personal expression, not simply a mirror of something you've seen elsewhere.

2.  Environmental Portrait:

I like this picture because of the background
and how she is lying on the sand trying to tell a story
the camera just being focus on her.

I like this Picture because of how is just her on the swings and the rest of the kids are being blurry out . Is telling a story that you can understand really quickly.

3. Casual Environmental:

I like this pictures because on how they have their own standing their own movement of being focused on the camera its only them and a simple background and the color that the sun gives the picture.

3.  Formal Portrait:
I like this Picture Because oh how its just focus on her face everything is simple starring with the background. Is simple just like the look she's given to the camera.

I like this Picture because its just like the picture on top is simple and still a very beautiful picture it a clean work with the background and with a natural look.

Who will you shoot, where will you shoot, and what will you do to make the shot successful? I would probably do a Self-Portrait, I would like to shoot Down town where you could see the beauty of Austin, the buildings the people etc.. Or in a garden were the beauty of nature would be seen. What i would do to make my portrait successful would be to follow the tips i have receive, and follow my photography rules and the steps to use the camera the best that i can. I would shoot the picture my self with a tripod and make sure everything its okay with the aperture and the shutter etc before i take it.

Mergers and Avoiding Mergers:

"The Three Pillars of Exposure: Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed"

F2.8

                                                                            F16

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?  We should relate it to our eye, the inside of our eye which is the pupil.

2. Finish this sentence - The smaller the Aperture More light comes trough the lens , the higher the Aperture Less Light comes through the lens.

3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? Depending on the aperture if it small or big if its big the object would focused more ,and if it's small the object would focused more on all the picture.

                                                                        Slow Shutter Speed

                                                               Fast Shutter Speed
Light:

  • a.) the dunking booth (medium shutter speed)
  • b.) the food eating contest (slow shutter speed)
  • c.) the rock climbing wall (medium shutter speed0
  • d.) someone working at a booth (slow shutter speed)
  • e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle ( medium shutter speed)
  • f.) the Diamonds performance. (fast shutter speed)
Dark:
  • a.) the dunking booth (slow shutter speed)
  • b.) the food eating contest (medium shutter speed)
  • c.) the rock climbing wall  (small shutter speed)
  • d.) someone working at a booth (medium shutter speed)
  • e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle (small shutter speed)
  • f.) the Diamonds performance (fast shutter speed)
The three settings of the Camera:
Aperture, Manual & Shutter:
Aperture: It sets the lens automatically.
Shutter: Is when i set the speed but the aperture set by itself.
Manual: Is when i set everything by myself.

  • F4 1/125
  • F5.6 1/60
  • F8 1//60
  • F11 1/30
  • F16 1/15
  • F22 1/8

As the aperture gets bigger the smaller the shutter gets.  F4 would look better with a shutter of 1/125 the background has better clear view. If you would put a lower shutter everything would look blurry like a shutter of 1/8.
In F4 the photo look blurry it has to much light that you can't see what happening on the picture. F5.6 is blurrier than F4 it has no more the only thing you can se is the light. F8, and F11 you can almost see the background buh the source of light is to strong. F16 and F22 need a little bit of a lower shutter and you would be able to see the background and couple in a better condition.

"Great Black and White Photographers part 3'

1)The first thing that caught my eye was the story behind the picture, and what they focused in it was clear.
2) On the first picture i posted ,I see a lady with he's son looking at him with love, its only her and the child and nobody else there by themselves and its a blank background nothing only her and him.
I smell the dry leafs that you can verily see on the picture i smell the lady and the child i smell whats around them which is nothing only leaves under them that you can nearly see.
I hear the breathing of  the lady and the baby , I can hear the sound of there heart beating every second I hear the silence, I can hear what he's mother is thinking about the love and the caring she has toward him.I taste something simple something that i can taste the love of the lady to he's child, I can taste de dry leaves and sticks around them i can taste the dry dirt below them.
I feel love, I feel the passion that he has to he's child i feel the love and caring for him that he's very special to her I feel the soft skin of the baby.

On the second picture ,I see a lady being serious been focused having a peace moment ,I see no one I only see  her and the dark room she is in , she's lonely with no one to talk too.
I smell peace ,I smell flowers something that reminds me of being peace and silence i smell the empty room she is in. I hear her heart beating every second ,I can hear her breath out and breathing inn , I can hear the sound of the air blowing.I taste nothing only the taste of the flowers that remind me of peace,I taste the dry background.I feel the seriousness that she's going through ,I can feel the calmness on her.

3)I would create posters ,power points, and blogs to show how great photographer he is.. I would put posters everywhere so people would know what he like to take pictures of he's interest in, My powerpoint would be seem on the school website so he's  pictures can be seem by people, I would  put the powerpoint into my blog. My blog would be so that photographers and people  can see he's pictures and they can be inspired by.And see he's  art work, and he's  passion for photography. You would see a story and meaning of it by him

"Mural Project Preview"

1. What theme could you use here at school to make your own mural that tells a unique Akins story? Be specific. Explain what subjects you will include in your mural. The theme i could use during the school would be about fashion shoes, clothes, jewelry, bags, and backpack etc.Or about Art something to do with art projects or music like graphic design music piano etc.

2. Why is this theme worth devoting time time and effort to capture? Why would other students care about this theme? I think is worth it because I think a lot of people would be interest of looking at i mean who doesn't like fashion or music it something that gets peoples eye attention.

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages to using a phone camera to do this project?

I think is a advantage because you can capture every moment with your phone if you see something to do with our object , like when your in lunch or during class. An disadvantage i don't really think is a bad idea using our phones its a great idea.

4. What are the advantages and disadvantages to using an SLR camera to do this project?

Disadvantages would be that we don't always gonna have our cameras with us to take the pictures that we want if we something that has to do it were gonna miss that opportunity because the camera is not with us. And the advantages would be taking better quality of the pictures.

5. Should we use phones or SLR cameras for this project? Why? Yes we should use both, camera and the phone because there both are gonna help us in a kind of way with our project. There both are going to be useful and very helpful to take a good quality to our theme.

"Africa and Mural Project Preview"

My reaction toward the power point of africa, was speechless there very, very, beautiful photos. There very focused on the animals and very cleared pictures.

This was my favorite picture,of all because i like how they captured the sun and the light of the sun is been focused on the giraffe, and how the clouds are being brighten by the light of the sun. Its a very beautiful picture.

This picture is using the rule of thirds. Because its when you move the object and it would still look the same nothing would change.Like for an example if you move the giraffes to different place the picture would really not change at all.

The type of camera he used to take this pictures was a Pentax 67.

The reason he takes these photos is to show the animals the simply of state of being. Before there are no longer are meaning before they are all gone.

The hope by taking these types of photos is to show people the beauty of the animas in East Africa,he's goal was too record the las testament of the wild animal before there all destroyed.

Something he has to say about Africa is that "To me, every creature, human or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and I are equal, affects me every time I frame an animal in my camera. The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."

"Academic Shoot Reflection"

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you? The challenges that i encounter while taking the pictures was that it was hard for me to were the subjects that i was looking for following  each step of the rule.Trying to find real life example toward the rules.

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly. I think about the focus focusing on the subject that i was taking the picture of. To have it clearly and if it made sense right away when you look at the picture.

3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography? Something that i would do different would be knowing and learning more about the expectations of the rules of the subject that I'm looking for, learning more what I'm taking pictures of and being more creative with my pictures.

4. What things would you do the same?
Thing that i would the same would be follow my creativity and how i see everything around me if it makes sense with the rules.

5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve? The easiest rule would be balance, I think is the easiest because your just looking for the subject to be in the middle and even on the sides.

6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture? Rule of Thirds, would be the harder because your looking at a subject that if you move it ,it would still look the same and nothing would change.

7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is? The
rule that I'm not still clear would be avoiding mergers its difficult for something to cover the background or to avoid something on the picture.

"Academic Shoots"

Lines

I took this picture for the subject lines, it shows how the lines of the back seats are lined up and u can clearly see the lines while the student are playing.

Simplicity

I took this photo for the subject simplicity, it show how the subject is focus as he does he's work,I probably didn't follow the rule the right way and one thing that i would change would be focusing more on the boy, and not having a lot of background show.

Rule of Thirds

I took this photo for the subject rule of thirds, it shows how if we move the girl walking into different places. If we move it to the right or more to the front nothing specific would change. It shows clearly the subject of rule of thirds.

Balance

I took this photo for the object balance, it show how he is in the middle of the picture having even size oh the sides of him. It shows clearly on how this photo is an example of being balance.

Avoiding Mergers

I took this photo for the subject avoiding merge,it shows how the guy in front is covering the guy on the back with he's paper. It can show clearly the avoiding mergers.

Framing

I took this photo for the subject framing, it shows on how the students its framing the teacher on the bottom and a little from the sides. It shows how framing its happening on the picture.

"Best Story"

I choose this photo as the "Best Story",because there serving the people food that they look in need, and there being helpful giving people food that can't get at least a supper.

Elements of Art and Principles of Design in Photography

Lines -are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.
I chooses this art picture because on how the the lines are forming the bull.

I choose this photo because as the zebra has lines all over he's body that blinds it with the rest of the lines.

Shape - are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet. Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.

I choose this art picture because of the shape of the wood faces it shows the shape of the eyes nose and mouth etch..
I choose this photo because it shows how the shape of the mountains are captured.

Color -wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors. They also show the relationships between complementary colors across from each other, such as blue and orange; and analogous (similar or related) colors next to each other such as yellow, green, and blue. Black and white may be thought of as colors but, in fact, they are not. White light is the presence of all color; black is the absence of reflected light and therefore the absence of color.

I choose this art picture because on how the colors are matching all together and how the colors blend in.
I choose this picture because its colorful and the colors blend in together.

Value - or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between. Value contrasts help us to see and understand a two-dimensional work of art.

I choose this art picture because it shows how more than one thing are together in different dimencionals.
I choose this picture because it shows how the water contrast with the girl movement having more than one thing in the picture.

Form -describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.

I choose this art picture because it has the three-dimensional things the width, length, and the height of the guy.
I choose this photo because it show the length the width and height of the little girl face.

Texture -can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless. Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork

I choose this art picture because of  the texture that they put on the shapes of the stars and on the rest of the painting.
I choose this picture because of the line texture that the trunk of the tree has.

Space -refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece. Space can be positive (white or light) or negative (black or dark), open or closed, shallow or deep, and two-dimensional or three-dimensional.

I choose this art picture because of the space that it has between the two subjects.

I choose this picture because as well of the space that it has between the subject and how the sky is close to the land but at the same time is has the space between them.

Balance-is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art.  There are three different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. The human figure is symmetrically balanced; the same on the left and right side. The tree is asymmetrically balanced; its branches are not distributed equally on each side, but their total weight is balanced left and right. The sun is an example of radial balance; all its rays are equal in length from the center.
I choose this art picture because its showing the balance of the men and the women being on the center of the portrait.
I choose this picture because it shows how the rocks are in the middle of each-other and they are being balance.

FContrast-is created by using elements that conflict with one another. Often, contrast is created using complementary colors or extremely light and dark values. Contrast creates interest in a piece and often draws the eye to certain areas. It is used to make a painting look interesting.

I choose this art photo because of the colors on how the cape on her hair contrast with her clothes and how they blend in with black background.
I choose this photo because on how the sun of the light is contrasting the people on the side.

Emphasis -
is the focal area of an artwork gives it importance.  An artist may stress some elements of the design over others. The eye of the viewer will focus on the area of emphasis or center of interest first, then take in the rest of the composition.

I choose this art photo because on how the center of the flower is standing out focusing on it.

I choose this photo because the flower is being emphasis its being more focused and blended on the rest of the flowers.

Movement- in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.  Movement is a visual flow through the composition. It can be the suggestion of motion in a design as you move from object to object by way of placement and position.  Directional movement can be created with a value pattern. It is with the placement of dark and light areas that you can move your attention through the format.
I choose this art picture because it shows the moves of the wave on how it flows.
I choose this picture because it show the movement on how she is moving on her dance moves.

Patterns -are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.  Pattern uses the elements of art in planned or random repetitions to enhance surfaces of paintings or sculptures.
I choose this art picture because of the pattern that it keeps on going with the cans.

I choose this picture becaus of the stair pattern that it keeps on going.

Rhythm- is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms.  Rhythm is a movement in which some elements recurs regularly.  Like a dance, it will have a flow of objects that will seem to be like the beat of music.
I choose this art picture because on how the people are sitting together and dancing and how its repeating on each-other and have the same elements.
I choose this photo because of the birds having the same space between and how it repeats.

Unity- means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony.  Unity brings together a composition with similar units.  For example, if your composition was using wavy lines and organic shapes you would stay with those types of lines and not put in even one geometric shape.
I choose this art picture becaue on lines that they stick together and it really doesen't have no change to it.

I choose this photo because how the lines of the subjects have in common that they unite together.
